Early Years
Welcome to Beaconsfield Elite academy which works with the complete child. Our aim is that every child that comes through the door is not only treated as special but feels special. Our individual child centered approach encourages our children to excel in all areas (Academically, socially, physically and emotionally). Our experienced and dedicated teachers consistently set targets for every child. Our structured programme delivering the perfect mixture of care and learning helps your child to reach their fullest potentials.
LEARNING THROUGH PLAY: Children learn more in the first five (5) years of their lives than at any other time – and they do this simply by playing. Our primary aim is to work in partnership with parents to develop happy, confident children who are interested in everything they see and hear thus contributing to enquiring minds.
SPACIOUS AND WELCOMING: Children from 9 months to 7 years old play and learn in spacious, brightly decorated rooms, with colourful wall displays of the children’s own work and photos of their activities. We also display activity planners, curriculum information and other key information to keep parents fully informed about their child’s experience at Beaconsfield Elite Academy.
VARIETY OF EXCITING AND STIMULATING ACTIVITIES: Our approach of ‘learning through play’ is designated to help children achieve their potential and increase their confidence through a wide variety of experiences. We provide opportunities for personal and social development, from speaking and listening, encouraging goal making, mathematics, work on the computer, expanding the children’s knowledge and understanding of the world; encouraging them to explore their creativity through music and art; daily French classes. Outdoors, the children can learn about gardening or make use of the climbing equipment, which is on a soft surface. Whatever the activity, we are constantly interacting with the children to ensure they are able to gain maximum benefit.Sand, water, play dough, puzzles, building blocks, shape sorters and construction of bricks help the children to develop the concepts of form, shape, size and textures so that they can learn as they play.
CURRICULUM: As our children come from a diverse cultural background, we try to reflect this in our curriculum. The decision to bring your child to school should have benefits for all concerned.Information about your child’s welfare when you are not with them is therefore very important. At Beaconsfield Elite Academy, we take our roles as the custodian of your child very seriously.Planned activities and menus provide you with part of the picture. We provide appropriate toys and equipment to allow children to make choices and we train our staff in presentational skills so that rooms are laid out in a stimulating way.We make our children feel valued and loved whilst enhancing their self-esteem, fostering their ability to be independent and taking time to reinforce skills regularly so that every child responds at their own pace, and consolidate learning. This is the cornerstone of our philosophy at Beaconsfield Elite academy. When the time arrives for toilet training, we take our lead from you, using positive reinforcement to guide your child through this important stage of his / her further development.
FIRM FOUNDATION: The baby and toddler areas of BEA follow the guidance of the Birth to 3” matters document produced by The Department of Education in London. The Staff follows this accordance with the Nigerian Curriculum to enable us engage the younger children in active learning. Following this and linked to it is the Foundation stage curriculum for children from 3 to 5 years old covering the period up to the reception class year at school. We believe that our 2–tier curriculum provides a stepping-stone for early learning goals, together with the benefits of full day care with trained staff that understand and appreciate all your child’s needs.BABIESOur baby room focus on a sensory approach as the sense of touch is key in the early stages of development. Babies explore materials, objects and educational toys while closely supervised by our staff .Equipment and display are placed at this level so that they can see, touch, feel and investigate their environment close up.Ceilings are covered with hanging, eye-catching objects as children also spend time on their backs looking up. Appropriate books are available for babies to look through with staff, providing early speaking and listening opportunities. Listening to sounds, music and rhymes encourages speech and language development.
